This place wasn't hard to find at all. Everyone was very helpful and sweet. The girls up front were helpful when asking if ingredients contained any peanuts. It was worth the drive, plus you can go eat next door before u go to the bakery 😉.
The best pinoy breads I’ve ever had!!! They are truly a gem. I’ve tried most of them but my favorite was the CHEESEBREAD and BEEF EMPANADA!it was so delicious just like the ones i had from the Philippines. The coconut rice ckes are also very delicious! Cant wait to get more!
Let me say firstly that I am very glad this bakery opened a location in this city. It is by far the closest you will get to the Filipino taste that I dearly miss so much.
I made two visits to this place on a Saturday. I made on visit during the midday (11am), where it had a good amount of foot traffic. The other visit was in the morning around 8am. Go during the former period as in the morning visit they were not fully stocked at the counter and no drinks were available.
Prices were ok for what you get, but the quality was there. Ignore the drinks, the pricing was outrageous on those. If you want one ask for light ice. They will try to fill the cup with ice all the way to the top. Please don't let them get away with that kind of chicanery.
There are a lot of different breads to choose from and from what I purchased, all were tasty. Here are some standouts that you should definitely get.
Cheese balls (6 for 10.50) Small yeasty buns filled with cream cheese and dusted with sharp cheese powder.
Classic queso de bola ensaymada (3.25)
Brioche bun slathered with butter spread and topped with shredded edam cheese.
Pork asdo siopao (2.99ea). These steamed buns with shredded sweet pork filling are kept in the refrigerated case. They are extremely fluffy. Also sold in packs of four.
Pork adobo pandesal (2.99) located in the case by the register. Best of the three stuffed pandesal offered.
One note: the chicken empanada was 2.75. It has a sweet shredded chicken filling with carrots and raisins.
For me it is a must try place. Assume to spend a lot of money here with offerings that you will not find in a any Pinoy bakery here, at least quality wise.
Such a great Filipino bakery with a wide variety of baked goods, sweets, savory, and desserts. My favorites are their ube tres leches. It’s heavenly and ube flavor is on point, doesn’t taste artificial at all! Will try their pan dan flavored goodies next time. Authentic ube/pan dan flavors are so hard to find, I’m glad we found this gem of a place and will come back soon.
Update: tried their pandan roll cake, and pandan drink, ube Oreo drink. The drinks are delicious and sweet. The cake was alright but a little too sweet for me.
My favorite filipino store in houston!!
My cashier was super nice..(she asked if I was filipino..and I said yes I am)the snacks are amazing!! Will definitely be back
The first Filipino bakery we've ever been to, we were excited to try everything! We picked up various bread and of course, their famous calamansi juice and halo halo. Most of the bread we chose had ube in it, which we love. The ube cheese bread was very good. Powdered ube on top with a creamy cheese filling.
Loved their halo halo. Ube ice cream with red bean, jelly, little ice bits, coconut milk, cereal flakes, etc. It was sp refreshing on a super hot and humid day. The calamansi juice was also very refreshing. It was a bit too sweet at first but once the ice melted a bit, it was just perfect!
Overall, great bakery with lots of options to choose from. This is a must if you are in Houston!
Lovely bakery with a good selection of sweet and savory foods. Also had a huge selection of drinks! Bought ube tarts, ube cheese rolls, hopya, empanadas, siopao, pan de sal, and sapin sapin.
Loved every item I've tried here. I'm none filipino, but I never felt like an outsider here. The ladies at the counter are super helpful and nice. Prices are reasonable. The breads and desserts here are so much better than any grocery store. I enjoyed the pinoy hotdogs and empanadas as well.
